MINERAL MIZER (DWS-SADI) |

MINERAL MIZER plumbing diagram
Diagram shows MINERAL MIZER (DWS-SADI) and associated water storage tank installed in the practice’s sterilization center. Tubing is included for mineralfree water distribution to red autoclave water faucet. |
Overview
MINERAL MIZER
- makes mineral-free water (<2 ppm TDS) for autoclaves at up to 3 gallons/hour
- is normally installed in the sterilization center.
Storage
MINERAL MIZER includes a 3 gallon tank for mineral-free water.
Dispensing
MINERAL MIZER includes a stationary red faucet for dispensing autoclave water.
Options
- DWS-DIHR: retractable red faucet for direct autoclave fill
- DWS-TKUP-14: 10 gallon storage tank upgrade
Maintenance
- annual: DWS-LDPF sediment / carbon block filter
- as-needed: DWS-LRDC2 dual deionization filter when TDS > 10 PPM
- convenience: DWS-RPKS includes DWS-LDPF and DWSLRDC2. Many practices proactively replace all filters annually to eliminate interruption of autoclave water.
Usage
The MINERAL MIZER is an ideal way for all practices, whether new or existing, to eliminate the expense, inconvenience, inefficiency and health risk of distilled water bottles.
Note
MINERAL MIZER produces pure water similar to distilled. Drinking pure water for extended periods leaches vital minerals from the body. |

MINERAL MIZER ECONOMICS
Mineral Mizer is economical, in most cases producing water for less than distilled water solutions. TABLE 1 shows the cost of operating the Mineral Mizer over for its expected 10 year life. The results are expressed in $/gallon of water produced, allowing a quick comparison against the practice’s existing solution.
TABLE 1 doesn’t include the cost of acquiring and installing the Mineral Mizer. Many practices balance acquisition cost
against gains in efficiency, convenience and staff safety of processing water on-site.
However, many practices wish to evaluate the economics without esoteric benefits. TABLE 2 shows the pure economics, including acquisition costs.
Both TABLES assume
- municipal water cost of $4/1000 gallons,
- 90% RO membrane efficiency,
- sediment filter life of 12 months,
- 2010 MSRP for replacement filters,
- the office is open 5 days / week,
- staff change filters.
TABLE 2 further assumes:
- nominal income tax rate of 33%,
- 2010 MSRP for equipment and
- one-time $150 installation charge.
