Frequently asked questions about the ProQuest I and ProCare II.
1, How many hours of operation at a time from the air compressor?
In ProCare II, Model# 1255, the compressor is activated when the foot control is depressed. It stops operating when your foot is removed from the foot control.
In ProQuest I, Model#1405, the small compressor functions to pressurize the fresh water container and allow use of the air/water syringe. Only a small amount of “chip” air is needed for handpiece use. The compressor will cycle on and off only when the air/water syringe is being used.
2, What sort of air compressor is in each unit?
Off-free compressors are used in both units. The ProCare II unit has a 1/3 HP diaphragm-type compressor. The ProQuest I has a small, 1/16th HP compressor.
3, What additional costs whold there be to have the piezo-electric scaler installed into each unit? Is it $1180 of both units?
A piezo electric scaler can not be built into the ProCare II, Model#1255. That unit is too basic to accommodate one.
4, What RPM is achieved in each unit?
In ProQuest I, Model#1405, the maximum RPM generated by the electric highspeed handpiece is 200,000. In ProCare II, Model#1255, the RPM is detemined by the handpiece you are using. The diaphragm type compressor used in ProCare II will generate a MAXIMUM of 25 psi for handpiece use.
5, What is the capacity of the water reservoir in each unit? How much operating time could you expect before refilling?
“Operating time” with each unit is completely dependent on the procedures being done. There is no hard and fast time frame. In ProCare II, the capacity is 500 ml. In ProQuest I, the capacity is 1 liter.
6, Are both units fully independent? i.e. do they need auxiliary equipment for operation?
Both delivery systems are self contained. No auxiliary equipment should be needed.
7, What about parts and service.
Any qualified dental service technician should be able to work on and repair our equipment. We use standard dental components in all of our equipment.
8, What sort of coupling do the handpiece lines have? Are they universal? i.e. will they accept all types of handpieces?
In ProCare II, Model#1255, The two air driven handpiece positions have four hole, Midwest style connectors. The ProQuest I, Model$1405, has a single electric highspeed handpiece built in. All attachments must be “E” type electric attachments.
9, Do they operate on 240V?
Yes. Model numbers 1255 and 1405 indicate 220 volts/50 Hz electrical operation.
10, Is there built in suction in each unit?
Yes. In ProCare II, Model#1255, the suction is very weak. In ProQuest I, Model#1405, the suction is quite strong.
All of the electrical components used in our equipment have been UL certifies. None of your equipment has CE, EU, ISO, or CSA certification. |
